Three individuals have been arrested on drug-related charges following a police operation that led to the seizure of a particularly large quantity of various narcotic substances, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has said.
Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department detained three suspects — identified as N.B. (born 1995), J.A. (born 1990) and A.A. (born 1985) — on charges of illegal purchase and possession of narcotics in especially large quantities, as well as drug trafficking and facilitating the sale of drugs.
The body added searches of the suspects’ homes resulted in the seizure of substantial amounts of drugs prepared for distribution. The confiscated substances include heroin, methadone and dried marijuana.
Investigators also recovered materials used for packaging narcotics as part of the evidence.
The crime is punishable by up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life in prison, the Ministry said.
