Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has arrested four people on charges of illegally purchasing, possessing and facilitating the distribution of particularly large quantities of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
According to the ministry, officers from the Central Criminal Police Department carried out searches of the suspects' persons, vehicles and residences, seizing a significant quantity of drugs allegedly prepared for distribution.
Police said the seized substances included nearly one kilogram of MDMA, up to half a kilogram of Alpha-PVP and Mephedrone, as well as Cocaine, Methadone, Lysergic acid diethylamide.
Investigators also recovered packaging materials that authorities said were intended for preparing narcotics for sale.
If convicted, the suspects face penalties ranging from up to 20 years' imprisonment to life imprisonment, according to the Interior Ministry.
