Officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two individuals on charges of assisting the illegal acquisition, storage, and distribution of narcotic drugs in particularly large quantities by an organized group.
The suspects are brothers - A.A., born in 2001, and N.A., born in 2006.
The defendants were involved in the illegal purchase and storage of a particularly large quantity of the narcotic substance Alpha-PVP, with the intent to distribute it, the law enforcement said.
As part of court-authorized operational measures aimed at exposing the suspects, law enforcement officers carried out a controlled delivery of a drug parcel to a specific address in the city of Rustavi, which confirmed the criminal intent of both individuals. The suspects were subsequently arrested.
Police seized a particularly large quantity of narcotics as evidence. Materials used for packaging narcotic substances were also confiscated from the suspects’ residence.
The crime carries penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
