Seven arrested in Georgia’s capital on drug-related charges

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia on Saturday announced the arrest of seven individuals in Tbilisi on drug-related charges.
The crimes are punishable by up to 20 years in prison, the Ministry added.
Among those arrested are Georgian citizens as well as three foreign nationals.
The suspects face charges of illegal purchase and possession of large quantities of narcotic substances, illegal cultivation of cannabis plants and facilitation of drug distribution.
During searches of the detainees’ homes and designated locations, police seized large quantities of narcotic substances intended for sale, including dried marijuana, methadone, alpha-PVP and cannabis plants, the Ministry said.
Investigators also confiscated packaging materials, adhesive tape, plastic bags, and electronic scales used for drug distribution.
