Tbilisi police arrest man on suspicion of drug trafficking

Police in Tbilisi have arrested a man on suspicion of facilitating the illegal sale of narcotics, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on Wednesday.
The suspect, identified as N.M., born in 1999 and previously convicted, was detained by officers from the Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department as a result of operational and investigative measures.
According to the ministry, law enforcement officers seized dried marijuana allegedly purchased and stored illegally by the suspect. The substance was reportedly packaged for distribution.
The case is being investigated under Article 260, Part 4 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which relates to the unlawful sale of narcotic drugs and carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
