Ahead of the EU Defense Ministers’ meeting in Brussels, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized the need for Georgia to continue its journey towards closer ties with the European Union and the broader Euro-Atlantic community.

In his brief statement, Rutte called for Georgia to “return to the path of more Euro-Atlantic integration,” a move he framed as important for the country’s future.

However, Rutte quickly moved away from the topic, indicating that other issues were at the forefront of the meeting’s agenda. “But let’s not talk too much about Georgia today, we have a lot of other things to think about,” he remarked.
