Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze says that his agency will not support the cancellation of green Covid pases if the topic is raised.

He has stated that the green passports, along with thermo screening is a lever to maintain order.

Gamkrelidze called on individuals to take tests at hospitals after a coronavirus test bought in pharmacies shows positive, otherwise they will not not be registered to receive green passes.

Covid daily cases are surging in Georgia, hitting more than 17,000, while more than 87,000 remain infected with the virus.
