New Georgian University last week was granted the observer’s status following an agreement with Resilience, an interdisciplinary and invigorating research infrastructure for religious studies based in Italy.

Resilience said the deal had been motivated by its wish to establish relationships with institutions in countries that were not represented in the consortium of 13 European institutions.

It noted one of the efforts of the Georgian university based in the city of Poti, western Georgia, in the coming period would be to engage activities towards a national research infrastructure membership.

From its side, Resilience granted the university access to meetings, services and sources, whereas it would allow NGU to participate in the next phase of the project.

“NGU is already active in Resilience by offering Transnational Access fellowships”, it said.

The agreement was signed during Resilience’s annual General Assembly by H.E. Metropolitan Grigoli (Berbichashvili) and Prof. Alberto Melloni (Fscire).
