Tamaz Bestaev has been appointed as the head of the administration of South Ossetia, the government administration said on Friday.
Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met him personally today and congratulated on his appointment to the new position.
Bestaev headed the Healthcare and Social Security Service of the South Ossetian Administration over the past 15 years.
He will replace Dimitri Sanakoev who resigned on October 14.
“16 years is enough to stay in one place”, Sanakoev said and stated he would be engaged with business activities.
The South Ossetia administration is a temporary administrative-territorial unit created in 2007 for the peaceful resolution of conflict involving the currently Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region.
