New public defender appoints deputies

Levan Ioseliani, the new public defender of Georgia, on Monday presented Elene Gudushauri and Natia Julakidze as his deputies.
The position became vacant after Giorgi Burjanadze and Ekaterine Skhiladze left the mentioned posts.
In addition, Tamar Gvaramadze will continue to be the first deputy public defender and chief of staff.
Gudushauri will coordinate and supervise the activities of the Criminal Justice Department of the Public Defender’s Office, the National Prevention Mechanism, the Strategic Litigation Division, the Analytical Department, and the Human Rights Education Department.
Natia Julakidze will coordinate and supervise the activities of the Department of Children’s Rights, the Department of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Department of Gender Equality, the Department of Equality, the East Georgia Division, the West Georgia Division of the Public Defender’s Office.
