NGO Empathy head: watching ex-pres. Saakashvili’s current condition without actions “sadism”

To wait for a person to be resuscitated and when all his organs are out of order is sadism and watching the torture of a person continuously, the head of the Empathy center ensuring aid to imprisoned former president Mikheil Saakashvili, Mariam Jishkarian, said on Wednesday. 

She said the MPs of the ruling Georgian Dream party “either do not understand what is happening, or they enjoy watching the person suffer”. 

“The polyorganic failure is possible in terms of Saakashvili. There are many system malfunctions. It is not possible to specify the main diagnosis. Accordingly, the treatment is carried out blindly and symptomatically”, Jishkariani said and reiterated her previous calls to transfer the convicted third president abroad for treatment. 

Jishkariani said that the current authorities and their representatives were “inadequate” in their statements in relation to the health of Saakashvili, who was arrested in Tbilisi in October 2021.
