Nika Gilauri, former Prime Minister and a founder and managing partner of the consulting firm Reformatics, stated that he has never considered himself a politician, even during his tenure as PM. He emphasized that he has never been affiliated with any political party.

In his remarks, Gilauri highlighted the critical importance of Georgia’s integration into the European Union, describing it as a top priority for the country. He also pointed out the significant potential for Georgia to become a regional hub, positioning itself as an economic center that can boost employment opportunities.

Gilauri, who noted that he had not given an interview or made political statements in the past 12 years, refrained from addressing speculation regarding his potential candidacy for the Prime Minister position should the opposition win in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
“I have not made any political statements to this point. I deliberately chose not to give this lecture last week because I was told that if I did, everyone would think I wanted to enter the lists. I have no desire to join the lists of any political party, and I am not part of any political party,” he said.

During the public lecture, Gilauri, who served as Prime Minister from 2009 to 2012 and previously held positions as Minister of Energy and Minister of Finance, discussed the existing opportunities for Georgia’s economic development. He emphasized that with timely economic reforms, Georgia could transform into a strong economy and a major player in the region in a short period.
