One of the leaders of Coalition for Change, Nika Gvaramia, on Saturday said the May 26 protest events will go ahead as planned.
According to Gvaramia, the day will include a march from Vake to Parliament on Rustaveli Avenue, followed by a large rally.
“We do not intend to give up exercising our rights. The fact that the Georgian Dream authorities issue restrictions they invented themselves will not stop us under any circumstances. On May 26, everything will happen exactly as planned over the past two months, as people already know. There will be a march from Vake to Rustaveli, and there will also be a rally,” Gvaramia said.
He also noted that representatives of the United States Department of State are expected to be in Georgia during those days.
“Certain developments are happening now also for them to witness. And if I am not mistaken, Marco Rubio will be in Yerevan during the same period we are talking about, and not in Georgia because Georgia is ruled by Georgian Dream and has become a regime. Therefore, from every perspective, we must obstruct the Georgian Dream’s anti-Western course,” Gvaramia stated.
