The Tbilisi City Court has sentenced Nika Gvaramia, leader of the Coalition for Change, to 12 days of administrative detention on charges of petty hooliganism and disobedience to police. The verdict was delivered by Judge Koba Chagunava on Friday.

Following the court’s decision, Gvaramia declared, “Long live Georgia, death to slaves,” in defiance of the ruling.

The incident leading to Gvaramia’s arrest occurred during a police investigation at the office of the Droa party, amid ongoing protests against the Government’s decision last week to halt the country’s EU integration until 2028.

Gvaramia sought to enter the premises to observe the search, but police denied his request.
