Coalition For Change leader: “Opposition will remain united until last moment”

Nika Melia, the leader of the coalition For Change, has expressed confidence that the entire opposition will stay united until the very end, stressing the need to refuse legitimacy to the Georgian Parliament, which he claims is not recognized by the Georgian people or the international community.

Melia criticized the Georgian Parliament, calling it illegitimate, as he believes the people of Georgia have decided that they do not want it to function.

“This Parliament is not Georgia’s Parliament. The Georgian people have decided they do not want its operation, and it will not begin its work as the Parliament of Georgia,” he stressed.

Melia emphasized that the international community, including leading progressive democratic states, rejected the ‘fraudulent’ elections that led to the formation of the current parliament. He stated that this international non-recognition policy would remain firm and long-lasting.

Additionally, the opposition leader reaffirmed the importance of the opposition staying united and active in advocating for the interests of the Georgian people. He argued that the parliament represents the will of Bidzina Ivanishvili, keader of tge ruling party, not the people of Georgia.

“We will be as active as the current difficult reality demands,” Melia concluded, indicating ongoing political resistance.
