Nika Melia, leader of the For Changes coalition, on Wednesday criticized the Central Election Commission (CEC) following its October 29 announcement to refer election fraud allegations to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Melia claims that around 300,000 votes were “undeservedly” allocated to the ruling Georgian Dream party, calling the move a “severe blow” to Georgia’s European future.

“The CEC is entirely under the control of Bidzina Ivanishvili,” said Melia, adding that the commission’s explanations were “pointless” and of little interest to the public.
