Analyst Nikoloz Mchedlishvili has praised the Georgian government’s recent statement on the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, describing it as a “textbook example” of balanced foreign policy.
In a social media post, Mchedlishvili said the government’s message - which expressed condolences in a single text for both Israeli and Iranian civilian victims – represented a classic model of diplomacy focused on maintaining good relations with partners and avoiding escalation.
“The Georgian government’s statement today, expressing condolences for Israeli and Iranian citizens killed in the ongoing war within one text, is a classic example of balanced foreign policy aimed at preserving good relations and preventing war,” Mchedlishvili wrote.
He added that despite having worked as a journalist for approximately 14 years and closely following politics since, he had never read such a measured and balanced statement.
“This is a case that should be included in diplomacy textbooks,” he concluded.
