Nino Dolidze, the head of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy, has accused the ruling Georgian Dream party of attempting to purge public service of individuals who support Georgia’s European integration and adhere to the country’s constitution.

“Georgian Dream is likely seeking to replace these individuals with their loyal supporters,” she said.

Dolidze also criticized recent legislative changes, describing them as detrimental to safeguarding public servants’ rights. “Previously, protection mechanisms were more effective, and we successfully defended public officials in court. Now, these mechanisms have been weakened, making it less likely that we will win such cases in the future,” she added.
