Georgian Parliament Vice Speaker from the ruling Georgian Dream party, Nino Tsilosani, has responded to the resignation of Lithuania’s government by accusing it of making “unjust decisions,” including placing her and fellow GD MPs on a list of undesirable individuals.

In her social media post on Monday, Tsilosani pointed to what she described as hypocrisy, noting that the same Lithuanian officials who criticised Georgian politicians were now embroiled in a corruption scandal.

“It turns out that the Lithuanian government - the one that put me and my colleagues on the list of undesirable persons - has now resigned due to a corruption scandal,” she wrote. “It’s exactly this kind of people who make unjust decisions. I wonder who will be next?”

The lawmaker’s remarks have followed the resignation of Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas, who recently  stepped down amid pressure over his undisclosed business ties to a company owned by his sister-in-law. In his resignation statement, Paluckas cited “past mistakes” that had hindered his government’s work.

Lithuania has been among the most vocal EU member states criticising Georgia’s political direction in recent months, particularly over concerns related to “democratic backsliding,” judicial independence, and controversial laws.
