Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday said “no country should interfere” in Georgian elections, with the forthcoming race schedule next year for the legislative body.
In his press comments, Kobakhidze pointed to the “negative process” during the 2020 race, when he said the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy NGO had published “fake data” of the parallel vote count.
“Of course, this is not correct. Everyone should pay attention to how elections are conducted in other countries, but in no case interfere in them. If there are any risks of interference, we will provide everyone with information about everything. This is in our interests,” said Kobakhidze.
In their previous comments, the ruling party officials slammed the US donor organistions for funding ISFED and other domestic watchdogs.
