The International Organization for Migration, with the financial support of the European Union, on Tuesday handed over off-road trucks to the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

The trucks will significantly contribute to increasing the efficiency of the Border Police and improve the border protection capabilities, the body said.

The transfer of trucks was carried out with the support of IOM and the financial aid of the EU, as part of the project Border and Migration Management Action for Georgia (BMMAG), which is being carried out in close cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs from 2022.

A number of important projects have been implemented with the support of IOM and the financial assistance of the EU, which aim to strengthen the capabilities of Georgia in the direction of border and migration management, the Ministry noted.
