Georgia’s State Security Service reports that representatives of Russian occupying forces have unlawfully detained two Georgian citizens near the occupied village of Tsnelisi.

The authorities immediately informed the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions and international partners about this latest illegal detention. The Security Service stated that all available mechanisms have been activated to ensure the prompt release of the detained Georgian citizens.

“The occupying force bears full responsibility for all destructive actions committed in the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as along the occupation line,” the State Security Service emphasized.

Currently, 9 citizens of Georgia remain in the occupied Tskhinvali prison and pre-trial detention center.
