One individual died in the outskirts of Tbilisi on Wednesday after an elevator in a residential building caught fire.

A source told Front News the victim was a 60-year-old man, living in the Mukhiani district of Tbilisi.

Police are looking into the incident.

Two individuals were killed in an elevator incident in Tbilisi earlier this year, with Tbilisi mayor Kakha Kaladze saying the residents needed to monitor the elevators and request co-funding of outdated systems from Tbilisi city hall if needed.
