One of the three individuals, who were illegally detained by the Russian-controlled occupation forces near the village of Ergneti, central Georgia, earlier today, received injuries while he was trying to escape the de facto Tskhinvali forces.

The man has already been released and transported to Tbilisi-controlled territory, while the other two remain in illegal detention.

The man suffered fractures as he fell down from a height.

Illegal detention of Georgian citizens at the occupation line is a common practice by de facto Tskhinvali and Abkhazia authorities which are under Russian control.

The two Georgian regions were recognised as independent states by Russia after the Russia-Georgia 2008 war.
