One percent of double vaccinated, 57, die of Covid-19 in Georgia

Georgian health officials say that 99 percent of the individuals, who have died from Covid-19 in Georgia since April 2020, were unvaccinated.
“Only one present of double vaccinated individuals have died in the country from the virus so far, which is 57 people,” deputy head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control, Paata Imnadze, said earlier today.
He stated that the major reason for death in double vaccinated individuals was their age.
“The majority of them were elderly people,” Imnadze said. 10,238 individuals have died from Covid-19 in Georgia since April 2020.
The health officials say that the vaccination rate remains low in the country ‘which is alarming’, ranging between 3,000-4,000 over the past several weeks.
Georgia reported 5,206 new cases of coronavirus, 4,648 recoveries and 53 deaths in the past 24 hours.49,619 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.
1,990,501 individuals have been vaccinated in Georgia since March 2021, of which 946,395 have been completely vaccinated.
