One person has been arrested for making fake documents of a coronavirus PCR test

The officers of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, as a result of operative-investigative measures and investigative actions, exposed two persons for forging key documents, one of them was arrested. 

 

“The investigation revealed that the suspects, on behalf of one of the medical institutions in the Imereti region, without proper laboratory examination, prepared and handed over the documents reflecting the negative results of the coronavirus PCR laboratory examination in exchange for money.

 

As a result of the investigative actions, the computer equipment  to produce a false certificate was used. Investigation is in progress under the first part of Article 362 and the 4th part of Article 221 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 4 to 6 years.

 

 “Relevant measures are being taken to identify possible other accomplices in the commission of this crime” – the Investigative Service said.
