The non-invitation of Georgia at the recent G7 meeting in Germany, where Ukrainian and Moldovan FMs were present, is the fault of the pro-Putin, treacherous policy of the current state authorities, European Georgia opposition party head Giga Bokeria said on Friday.
He stated that the meeting was mainly focused on Russia’s war in Ukraine, consequences of the conflict and prospects for the regional countries, not only Ukraine.
“This is unfortunately the continuation of Ivanishvili’s course (Bidzina Ivanishvili, founder of the Georgian Dream ruling party). There is no trust in this regime. Their anti-Western propaganda goes unnoticed by anyone, and our citizens must understand that this trend that we are observing is a direct threat to Georgia and, in other words, it increases the threat of aggression by Putin’s Russia against our country,” Bokeria said.
He stated that several years ago, Georgia would be a front-runner in the situation.
Bokeria also suggested that the recently signed US Lend-Lease act also included aid for Georgia. However, noting that Ukraine and Moldova were expected to receive more than Georgia.
