Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of the Strategy Agmashenebeli opposition party, on Thursday claimed his party’s meetings with potential foreign inventors to attract investments amid raising accusations against the country’s authorities over “backsliding” the domestic economy.

In his comments at the parliament, the lawmaker, whose party is allied with the United National Movement opposition party for this year’s general elections, also claimed the opposition’s “persistent efforts” had brought “vital concerns” back to the forefront of parliamentary discussions.

“The resounding echo is clear: economy, economy, and once again, economy,” he said.

Expressing optimism, Vashadze outlined the vision for attracting investments from both American and European sources. “I firmly believe that fostering partnerships with investors from across the Atlantic and beyond holds the key to revitalizing our economy. My team and I are committed to fostering a democratic state, free from the shadows of political persecution,” he affirmed.
