In an address at the Euronest parliamentary meeting in Brussels on Wednesday, Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the Strategy Agmashenebeli opposition party, reiterated his “unwavering commitment” to meeting the nine conditions necessary for Georgia to commence EU accession negotiations.

Vashadze outlined his party’s pledge to fulfill these requirements within a mere three months following the upcoming October general elections.

Expressing appreciation for the ongoing support of parliamentarians towards Georgia’s European integration endeavors, Vashadze underscored the shared vision of his party and the United National Movement to play an important role in the future government.

“I speak today not only as a representative of Georgia but also as a steward of its rich European heritage and culture,” Vashadze declared.

“The imminent prospect of Georgia’s full membership in the European Union is a historic milestone that carries immense responsibility. I extend my deepest gratitude to our European allies, friends, and the resilient Georgian populace, whose unwavering dedication to freedom and European ideals continues to inspire.”

Georgia obtained the EU candidacy last year and received a reform agenda to meet for opening of accession talks.
