Opposition leader Vashadze claims GD instructed its “athlete MPs” to attack him

Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of Strategy Agmashenebeli, said on Wednesday, citing a source, that the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party had instructed several of its MPs with a previous career in sport to attack him, following his “critical comments” to the ruling party.

 

“The source informed me that the Georgian Dream is planning a physical attack on me. I do not know if it is planned inside the state legislature or outside,” Vashadze said.

 

He said that “such moves” will not stop him from opposing the ruling party and “allow the public to see the real face of the current state authorities.”
