Members of opposition parties from lelo, Droa and Strategy Agmashenebeli, as well as several opposition MPs, have gathered today to discuss plans for the future.
Droa leader Elene Khoshtaria says that they have agreed to act in coordination.
Khoshtaria also said that the opposition remains interested in the offer of president Salome Zurabishvili to launch an ‘inclusive process’ which will end political polarization in Georgia.
She said that along with former president Mikheil Saakashvili, several other opposition leaders may be arrested ‘which will further empower the opposition instead of making them weak.’ Saakashvili proposed making peace, ‘national reconciliation,’ last week which will allow the country ‘to end political tension and move forward.’
However, the ruling Georgian Dream party says that the reconciliation is possible if the former United National Movement officials admit to ‘serious crimes’ they committed while in office and then the party will leave politics.
