The opposition members of Tbilisi City Assembly arrived in Tbilisi City Hall on Wednesday, demanding a meeting with Mayor Kakha Kaladze, following the recent arrest of nine, including the City Hall official, over the recent electrocution incident in central Vake Park, which killed one minor and left two others injured.

The opposition politicians claimed that “there are many questions unanswered” over the incident, with Kaladze refusing to attend the city assembly meeting to respond to the questions.

“Until now, the security cannot give us an answer whether the Tbilisi government session starts at 11:00 or 12:00. We are waiting to see if the mayor of Tbilisi and the government are going to not limit our legitimate right and allow us to the government session, because there are too many questions”, opposition member Irakli Nadiradze said.

The incident took place on October 13 in a newly renovated park fountain.
