The Georgian opposition-minded Formula TV channel on Wednesday announced a shift in its broadcasting format, slated to take effect during February and March of the current television season, ahead of this year’s parliamentary elections.
The channel informed its transition to a wholly informative and analytical approach, marking a departure from its previous programming style, also reporting organizational restructuring, including the scaling back and optimization of its entertainment segment.
“Regrettably, this restructuring will result in staff reductions and the departure of valued team members. The channel acknowledges the dedication of these individuals, who have tirelessly worked towards the mission of the channel”, it said.
The channel claimed commitment to serving the public interest, particularly amidst the upcoming elections through “promoting western values”.
