Opposition MP and member of Unity for Saving Georgia, Tamar Kordzaia, on Monday announced that at the end of the month, her party would also file a lawsuit against the controversial foreign influence transparency law, following the same decision by the President.

“We will also file a lawsuit with the same articles filed by the President of Georgia at the end of the month. This is a violation of Article 78 and Article 22 of the Constitution. I believe that the Constitutional Court will take responsibility. If the obligations of Article 78 apply to the members of Parliament and the President, and we want to fulfill this obligation, I believe that the Constitutional Court can also be trusted to fulfill the requirements of the Constitution and consider this lawsuit in a timely manner,” Kordzaia said.

President Salome Zourabichvili and various non-governmental organizations have applied to the Constitutional Court with lawsuits concerning the law.
