Opposition MP Dekanoidze Backs President Zourabichvili for PM, open to Presidential re-run

Opposition MP Khatia Dekanoidze on Wednesday expressed her support for Salome President Zourabichvili’s potential candidacy for Prime Minister, while also considering her as a possible presidential candidate.

“Salome Zourabichvili’s stance on European integration and Ukraine is very important,” Dekanoidze said. “For example, I would support Salome Zourabichvili in her candidacy for the position of Prime Minister if there was a broad coalition backing her. As a presidential candidate, why not? Her strong position on European integration and her pro-Ukrainian stance are crucial for Georgia at this stage.”

President Salome Zourabichvili mentioned during a meeting with the youth yesterday that she would be very happy and proud if she were their preferred presidential candidate.
