Khatia Dekanoidze, a former leader of the United National Movement, on Wednesday said “configurations within the opposition may not captivate the population’s interest greatly”,amid plans of Nika Melia, the former UNM chair, and Nika Gvaramia, the former UNM official and a media manager, to form their parties ahead of the October’s general elections.

“My focus lies where there’s no influence of shadow entities or political corruption, and where there’s a unified ideology among people committed to a genuine struggle against Bidzina Ivanishvili [the ruling party founder and its honorary chair]. I anticipate that the final configuration will crystallize very soon, possibly by the end of February or early March,” Dekanoidze said.

She also confirmed her ongoing communication with Gvaramia and Melia, emphasizing the importance of “fostering synergy and ideas that resonate with the interests of fellow citizens”.
