Opposition MP Khatia Dekanoidze on Thursday said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhdze had been publicly warned in Germany that his government could face severe sanctions for its alleged violent actions.

“Any kind of sanctions will be very severe,” Dekanoidze emphasised. She criticised Kobakhidze’s recent visit dedicated to Ukraine, calling it “hypocrisy and fraud.”

According to Dekanoidze, he attended the rehabilitation conference “as ordered  by Bidzina Ivanishvili [the founder and the honorary chair of the ruling party] to demonstrate that they are not isolated”.

“However, during this event, it was made clear publicly that violent authorities will face severe sanctions, which could include national sanctions and halting Georgia’s European integration at its current point”, the MP claimed.

Dekanoidze asserted that under the Georgian Dream administration, no progress is expected on the country’s EU path.
