The members of the Georgian Dream ruling party and the United National Movement opposition on Friday confronted each other in Tbilisi City Assembly over the recent electrocution incident in central Vake Park, which killed one minor and left two others injured.
The opposition politicians were accusing Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and “existing corruption” in his body for the fatal incident, claiming that the mayor “must resign ”.
On October 13 two 13-year-old boys entered a fountain in the park to retrieve a ball and were electrocuted.
13-year-old Marita Meparishvili also went into the water to help her friends, and later died from electrocution.
The renovated fountain was opened by Kaladze the day before the accident.
Nine, including a Tbilisi City Hall official, had been arrested in the case.
