The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has urged the OSCE and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights to establish a comprehensive observation mission for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia, scheduled for October 2024.

The latest declaration this week emphasised the need to monitor and identify any potential violations or anti-democratic tendencies that could emerge before election day. It said the approach aimed to ensure the integrity and democratic credibility of the electoral process.

By closely monitoring the pre-election period, the organisation said it aims to prevent any actions that could compromise the democratic standards of the election.
