Out of 688 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 295 cases were detected in Tbilisi, Adjara – 23, Imereti – 126, Kvemo Kartli – 31, Shida Kartli – 45, Guria – 32, Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 69, Kakheti – 50, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 7, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 7, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 3, – Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Chief of the Operational Staff at the Interagency Coordination Council said at a briefing at the Government Administration.

"Currently, there are 5,573 active cases of infection, of which: 2,384 people are treated in hospitals, including 1,158 in Tbilisi hospitals, 179 in Adjara, 467 in Imereti. At this stage, 559 people are seriously ill, including 253 in Tbilisi. In Adjara – 45, in Imereti – 131. There are 153 people on artificial respiration, of which 110 in Tbilisi, 6 in Adjara, 14. in Imereti – 292 people are accommodated in clinical hotels, including 200 in Tbilisi, 81 in Adjara, 11 in Imereti. 897 people are undergoing treatment for the virus in a residential apartment.

487 people are placed in quarantine areas, including 200 in Tbilisi and 126 in Adjara.

In total, from October 6 to February 2, 22,375 people were transferred from the state border to quarantine areas.

"At this stage, 15,348 people are in self-isolation, including 9,419 people in Tbilisi, 734 in Adjara and 1,538 in Imereti," Berdia Sichinava said.
