An overwhelming majority of Georgians, 84%, feel their country has good relations with the European Union, the Annual Survey 2023 – Georgia. Perception of the European Union, conducted by the European Union regional Communication Programme for the Eastern Neighbourhood, said on Friday.

Compared to 2016 figures, it was a nine point increase, said the survey conducted in February across Georgia with 1,000 interviewees.

“Awareness of the EU’s financial support for Georgia has also risen dramatically, standing at 82% this year compared to just 60% in 2016”, the survey noted, adding the bloc remained the “most trusted international institution” among Georgians, trusted by 78% of respondents – a 12 percentage point increase on 2016.
