A march is taking place in Tbilisi to celebrate the 70th anniversary of world-renowned opera singer Paata Burchuladze. Citizens gathered near the Philharmonic Hall and are marching down Rustaveli Avenue toward the Parliament, making a stop at the Opera and Ballet Theatre along the way.

Burchuladze expressed gratitude for the public’s support, stating:

“Thank you all for standing by me and celebrating this day. Our slogan today is ‘Wake up, Georgia.’ Georgia must awaken, and today, more than ever, it needs all of us to stand together. Every evening we gather on Rustaveli Avenue, showing that our hearts beat for Georgia. We will win, without a doubt.”

Despite the significance of the occasion, the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre declined to host an official celebration for Burchuladze’s milestone anniversary.
