Paata Imnadze, Deputy Head of the National Center for Disease Control, was vaccinated live with the anti-coronavirus Astrazeneca vaccine. Imnadze was vaccinated at the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital.

Georgia received the first batch of 43,200 doses of Astrazeneca vaccine on March 13. The coronavirus vaccine is primarily intended for medical workers and then for other individuals at risk.

Vaccination starts today in 29 regional centers of the country except Tbilisi, and from March 17 it will be implemented in practically all districts. As mentioned, a total of 89 districts will be vaccinated.

At the same time, it is already known that 43,200 doses of Astrazeneca vaccine will be added to the Pfizer vaccine in the near future, which Georgia will receive in the week of March 22 to vaccinate 14,500 people.
