A Georgian parliamentary delegation led by Foreign Relations Committee Chair Nikoloz Samkharadze on Wednesday met with Secretary-General of the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce Waleed Alorainan in Riyadh to discuss expanding trade and investment ties between the two countries.
The discussions focused on establishing a Georgia-Saudi Arabia Business Forum to better leverage investment potential, with particular emphasis on information technology, renewable energy, tourism and infrastructure. The parties also addressed the significance of a potential free trade agreement between Georgia and the Gulf countries, the Georgian Parliament’s press office said.
During the visit, the delegation also met with Abdulaziz Sager, the Founder and Chair of the Gulf Research Center, Saudi Arabia’s leading research organisation. The talks covered political developments and conflicts in the Black Sea region and the Middle East, including the situation in Gaza, Syria and Yemen.
Both sides agreed to organise a joint scientific conference to address security issues in the South Caucasus and the Middle East.
