Georgian Parliament Lowers National Flag in Memory of the 2008 Russia–Georgia War Victims

The national flag of Georgia has been lowered at the Parliament building to honor the victims of the 2008 Russia–Georgia war, marking the 18th anniversary of the conflict.

The August 2008 war claimed the lives of more than 400 people and left 2,232 others injured, including 1,045 military personnel.

In tribute to those who lost their lives, state flags have been lowered at administrative buildings across Georgia as the country commemorates the victims of the war.
