The Georgian Parliament on Wednesday approved changes about obtaining the country’s citizenship with its third and final reading.
The amendments aim to refine and simplify the citizenship procedure.
The bill says stateless persons who have been living in the territory of the country for five or more years will be given the opportunity to obtain Georgian citizenship if they meet other conditions established for this purpose.
The agency provides verification of the level of knowledge of the state language of Georgia, the history and the basic foundations of law by the interested persons.
