The Parliament of Georgia on Friday approved a new draft law in its third reading, allowing motorcycles and mopeds to use bus lanes. The legislation received support from 77 members.

According to the statement issued by the Parliament, “The Tbilisi municipality is given the authority to grant motorcycles and/or mopeds the right to use lanes designated for shuttle vehicles, along with light vehicles of the corresponding category—taxis (M1 category).”

Since the introduction of bus lanes in Tbilisi, the quality of public transport has significantly improved. White taxis are already permitted to use these lanes, and the inclusion of motorcycles and mopeds is expected to further enhance traffic flow and transportation efficiency in the city.
