Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said on Friday that the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has never expressed desire to address the Georgian state legislature as he had done in various foreign parliaments, responding to the recent statement of President Salome Zourabichvili that Zelensky should have been invited for the address.

“The point here is that Zelensky has never expressed the wish. The idea belonged to the United National Movement,” Papuashvili said.

In her recent interview for Palitranews Zourabichvili criticized the Georgian Dream government and the majority members for their recent “unreasonable” statements towards MEPs and other topics related to the country’s European integration process.

She also said that the Ukrainian President should have been invited for an online address to Georgian MPs.

Zourabichvili also suggested that she was against Georgia’s involvement in the war.
