The Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules supported the termination of Elene Khoshtaria as a Member of Parliament earlier today.

Khoshtaria, who currently chairs the Droa opposition party, appeared in parliament through the party list of European Georgia, but she left the party a few months after the 2020 parliamentary elections and founded the Droa movement which later became a party.

Khoshtaria stated that since she left European Georgia, the parliamentary mandate belonged to the party and not to her.

Like other opposition leaders, Khoshtaria says that the 2020 polls ‘were fabricated’ and is demanding repeat elections.

The ruling Georgian Dream party says that the opposition has no evidence that votes were rigged.
