Georgia has ranked 33rd worldwide among the strongest passports, according to the Passport Index 2026 that measures the number of destinations a passport holder can access visa-free or with visa-on-arrival.

The ranking means that Georgian citizens can travel to 133 countries visa-free or with simplified entry procedures. Of these, 79 countries allow completely visa-free entry, 50 issue visas on arrival, and four require electronic travel authorisation.

Georgian passport holders need to obtain a visa in 65 countries, including the United States and Japan.

In the 2023–2024 edition of the index, Georgia ranked 32nd, with access to 135 countries without a traditional visa.

Previously, Georgia placed 34th in 2022 and 35th in 2021. In 2017, the country ranked 45th in the same global passport power rating, reflecting a long-term improvement in travel access for Georgian citizens.
